THANK every cashier who checks ID

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I make it a point to thank every single cashier who checks ID when I use my credit card.
I THINK WE ALL SHOULD!!!
Cashiers should no longer be kept reluctant to check IDs for fear of customer annoyance, simply because no one thanks them for checking!!

Corporation’s Inadequacy leads to identity theft…

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Seems to me like even more progress could be made (stopping identity theft, or at least its devastating effects) by holding responsible those agencies that open accounts fraudulently. Websites [government run or otherwise] that post “public” records online, are only making it easier for people to access such records from anywhere in the world. I [...]

Institutionalized Corporate Complicity

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

A big part of the problem is that there appears to be either a widespread denial, or a “who cares?” attitude, on the part of big companies & corporations, that identity theft is a crime that affects victims, sometimes for life. I long ago gave up contacting Yahoo!’s “fraud” folks ’cause they never followed [...]

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I am dealing with credit card fraud with two of my credit cards. Bank of America and Chase. I have 17 fraudulent charges with BOA and 19 with Chase. They are all from the same person and they have stacks of info from me. It has been ovr 60 days and I still have not [...]

Kansas District Court in Wichita Kansas allowed someone to present themselves as me and get "good faith and credit"

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I am living like the Taliban in Las Vegas, NV, after 9/11, when I left Wichita, Kansas, to save my life. I had been in a car wreck, when I rolled 20 times, no brakes or steering, June 2, 2001. The “law” wouldn’t even investigate. Two years later when I had to go back and [...]

The Bank

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I was wondering what bank Karen was dealing with that did such an inept job. I read her story today in Reader’s Digest, and found myself not only fuming at the theif and and the court system, but the horrilble customer service provided by her bank. If I could find out what bank [...]

recent check forgery

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

The forged checks continue to come in and now total over $3000. Fortunately, nothing else has been out of order for us. It amazes me that these stores in Minnesota do such a poor job of verifying a check. This thief had forged checks with our names, addresses and account information [...]

NEED HELP FIGHTING BACK

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Im an identity theft victim. It has been less than 30 days since this all started. I NEED HELP TO CATCH THE THEIF. I’ve filled out the ftc id theft report, and filed a report with my local police dept on dec 26 2007. I have an address where the theif is having [...]

recent check forgery

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

My husband and I are recent victims of check forgery in Minnesota. Someone began using checks with all of our joint checking account numbers and information on them. Luckily for us, a smart employee at a Sears store became suspicious and the forger was caught. Because of this employee’s diligence, we were [...]

Opting out of credit card offers…

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

I called the 888 number last night to opt out of credit card offers. I was kinda surprised by the need for my ssn and d.o.b. I trusted your story and Reader’s Digest but woke up in the middle of the night feeling I had just handed out my identity. Why do they need [...]
