NEED HELP FIGHTING BACK

Im an identity theft victim. It has been less than 30 days since this all started. I NEED HELP TO CATCH THE THEIF. I’ve filled out the ftc id theft report, and filed a report with my local police dept on dec 26 2007. I have an address where the theif is having the credit cards and stolen info sent to. The theif has attempted to open 5 acts and has switched the mailing address on on of my current accts, and has attempted to have a new card from another acct sent to him. My local police said since the theif is in another state there is not much they can do. The police in that jurisdiction dont seem interested. I read your story and everyone else’s story and fear the worse. Every one I try to talk to about this to get help getting the theif says to give it up work on prevention. WELL I’M NOT INTERESTED IN PREVENTION, I’M INTERESTED IN JUSTICE, I’M INTERESTED IN FIGHTING BACK. I’m not going to play defense and keep spending money on prevention and waiting tell he finally wins and gets something. I NEED IDEAS ON WHO TO CONTACT AND WHO TO WRITE TO AND HOW TO GET SOME LAW ENFORCEMENT TO RESPOND.
The next area of concern is the lack of desire by the financial institutions who lose the money to fight back. I spend 15 to 20 minutes on the phone with them and after they verify I’m who I say I am. I ask for info about where the theif wanted the cards sent and other clues he may have provided. They tell me they can’t give me that info, because of privicy laws. So I send out the goverment letters requesting the fraudulant info, and do you think they would hurry no still no answer. So any advice on how to get this info ASAP from them.
PLEASE HELP ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. I WANT JUSTICE. I WONT GIVE UP.
