A Good Night’s Sleep

By karen | August 16, 2007

Try to do business in the U.S. while declining to give out your SSN (social security number) and you are in for a big disappointment. You will be refused assistance. Most corporations will claim they cannot help you without it and they will get irritable with you in the process. Most banks are so incompetent without it. Legally only for tax purposes do they have a right to ask for it. NOTE: Select government agencies, such as motor vehicle departments, tax departments and welfare departments, can legally demand your SSN. Your SSN is also required for transactions involving TAXES, so banks, brokerages and employers MAY HAVE a legitimate need for your SSN. Other than that, most businesses credit card companies included have no legal right to demand your number. I suppose the “may have” is the legal righteousness the banks say they have.

They are a monstrosity; the psychopathic child unable to handle the customer. They are like the torturous faucet drip that drips throughout the night; infinitely repeating, refusing you peace to a good night’s sleep. Only in the morning can you call the plumber. There is no plumber for the psychopathic child. Once you have a child you can’t send it back. You are stuck dealing with them.

However frustrated I know employees to these monstrosities are only doing their $10 an hour job. The banks are so completely larger than anyone of us is alone; though alone is what you feel when dealing with them. They don’t care about your well being. They don’t care who you are. They just want your money; and they only consider it money after it has reached over the $100,000.00 mark or better.

We give our money to them anyways, because what other options do we have? The stock market or our 401Ks, what a joke they are, but you didn’t hear that warning from me first. Maybe we should start investing in a high security mattress? One day instead of seeing advertising for the perfect night’s sleep, we will see advertising for the perfect night’s banking system fully equipped to handle sleeping as well as stowing away one’s hard earned earnings and retirement fund. The easy flip-nozzle makes deposits easy; and with a push of a button you can pay your bills wirelessly with ease.
